Mike Dolbey - Founding Board Member

Mike Founded and was Managing Director of Visual Entertainment Group for twenty years. VEG was the largest independent producer and distributor of videos and DVDs to Australia’s major retail outlets. The company held a record licensee agreement with the Australian Football League for this period. Other notable licenses were Australian Rugby League, Cricket Australia, Australian Olympic Committee, US TV series Danielle Steele and Crime Scene: CSI.

During the 80's Mike was responsible for helping raise $100,000 for Variety Club Victoria through 'What's on Video", a magazine he was director of. Mike is a member of the Australia Club and a rabid supporter of the North Melbourne Football Club, where he has spent many years supporting and counselling Aboriginal players. More recently, Mike has mentored Dr Sean Gorman, the main advisor to the AFL on indigenous affairs.

When Mike sold Visual Entertainment Group, he donated a substantial amount of money to “The Father Bob Maguire Foundation”, which allowed it to keep functioning and support Melbourne's needy.

After Mike's media career, he moved to Bali and backed Margaret Barry from the Bali Children Foundation's early days. This support was “in the field” and included astute marketing advice as well as significant financial support.

Mike recently returned to Melbourne and continues to support the Foundation through mentoring, marketing and fundraising.
